Welcome to Gorillas class! Our class team consists of Miss Morison (Class Teacher), Miss Perkins (Classroom Support Professional), Mrs Ashmead (1:1 Classroom Support Professional).
English
In English we are currently exploring the book ‘Leon and the Place Between’. We will be developing our writing skills through creating a diary entry as one of the characters, using fronted adverbials to show when something happens, using a range of conjunctions and editing our work.
In reading, we will use ‘Expert Tips’ reading skills to answer questions on a range of fiction and non-fiction texts. Specifically, we will be focusing on our class text to help build further understanding.
Maths
In Maths this half term, we are currently learning addition and subtraction, where we will be learning formal methods of calculation up to 1000! We will continue to work hard on our times tables, focusing on building our fluency in the x2/x5/x10 times tables.

In Science, we will be learning about animals including humans.
In Art, we will be exploring the artist David Gentleman, where we will be creating watercolour landscapes.
In PE, we will be building our skills in football and swimming.
In Computing, we will be learning about online safety and understanding how networks work.
In History, we will be learning about the Stone Age and the Iron Age.
In Geography, we will be learning about where we live and local rivers.
In French, we will be exploring French greetings.
