Welcome to Gorillas class! Our class team consists of Miss Morison (Class Teacher), Miss Perkins (Classroom Support Professional), Mrs Ashmead (1:1 Classroom Support Professional).
English
In English we are reading ‘The True Story of the Three Little Pigs’ by Jon Scieszka which twists the original story in an interesting way! We will be writing an innovated narrative inspired by our class text, using key writing features such as fronted adverbials, conjunctions and direct speech. Further, we will be focusing on building on our editing and revising skills.
In reading, we will use ‘Expert Tips’ reading skills to answer questions on a range of fiction and non-fiction texts. Specifically, we will be focusing on our class text to help build further understanding.
Maths
In Maths this half term, we are currently learning multiplication and division building our confidence in our x3/x4/x8 times tables. We will then be exploring length and perimeter including converting measurements. We will continue to work hard on our times tables, focusing on building our fluency in the x2/x5/x10 times tables.

In Science, we will be learning about rocks, soils and fossils, focusing on hardness and permeability.
In Art, we will be exploring the artist Henri Matisse and the Arts and Crafts Movement, where we will be creating our own prints.
In PE, we will be building our skills in handball and dance.
In Computing, we will be learning about online safety and programming using Scratch.
In History, we will be learning about the Ancient Egyptians.
In Geography, we will be learning about the River Nile.
In French, we will be exploring French playground games.
