English
In English, we are reading Can I Build Another Me where we are revising key writing skills such as simple sentences, conjunctions and expanded noun phrases to celebrate what makes us unique! We will then explore the text The True Story of the Three Little Pigs, extending on our writing by including fronted adverbials and adverbs. Throughout our writing units, we will be focusing on building on our editing and revising skills.
In reading, we will use ‘Expert Tips’ reading skills to answer questions on a range of fiction and non-fiction texts. Specifically, we will be focusing on our class text to help build further understanding.
Maths
In Maths this half term, we are consolidating our knowledge of place value, understanding hundreds, tens and ones. We will then move onto addition and subtraction, learning formal column methods.
We will continue to work hard on our times tables, focusing on building our fluency in the x2/x5/x10 times tables.

In Science, we will be learning about how to work scientifically, including prediction, result collection and making conclusions.
In Art, we will be exploring the artist Frida Kahlo and sketching self-portraits.
In PE, we will be building our skills in football and swimming.
In Computing, we will be learning about online safety and understanding about networks.
In History, we will be learning about the Stone Age, Bronze Age and the Iron Age, exploring ancient settlements and tools.
In Geography, we will be learning about where we live, the water cycle and rivers.
In French, we will be introducing French greetings and feelings.
