Welcome to Gorillas class! Our class team consists of Miss Grant (Class Teacher) and Mrs Cross (Classroom Support Professional).
English
In English this half term, we are looking at Leon and the place Between. We will be working towards writing a diary entry from the perspective of Leon and other characters. We will be revisiting our learning around using paragraphs, writing in the past tense, adverbials of time, and using expanded noun phrases to make our writing entertaining for the audience.
Maths
In Maths this half term, we are currently looking at fractions and fractions on a number line. We will also be continuing to revise and practise our 4’s and 8’s times tables.
Topic
In History, we will continue to look at Ancient Egyptians. We will be looking at mummification, Egyptian Gods and also how Egyptians farmed.
In DT we will be looking at mechanisms, and then designing and creating our own litter pickers.
In Art, we will be continuing to look at the work of Mary Rogers around moulding and sculpting pots. This will lead us to making our own canopic jars, which links in with our Egyptian history topic.
Science
This half term we are looking at animals including humans.
RE
In RE, we are looking at how festivals and worship shows what matters to Muslims.
