The Friends of Honeybourne School is run by a super group of willing parents who give up their time to put on social and fundraising events to support our school. FoHS is vital for our school with a mission to make school a better place for children to learn. FoHS brings parents and teachers together to raise funds and strengthen the school community. One of the main jobs of FoHS is raising funds for things that the school budget does not cover. This can range from enriching our forest school area, to special outings and trips for the children.
It can be hugely rewarding to join our FoHS, with many benefits for you and your child. Joining can help you gain confidence and make new friends with other like-minded parents at the school, and feel a great sense of satisfaction when you see the smiling faces of the children. You will get a chance to grow your relationships with the teachers and other members of staff. However, the main reward is knowing you played a part in making your child’s time at school the best it could possibly be.
We desperately need your help and support!
Due to a number of members stepping down recently, FoHS may not be able to continue without additional volunteers. In particular, we are looking for a vice chair, treasurer and secretary, as well as additional committee members.
Parents that are involved in FoHS are the voice of other parents and people in the community. They help to shape our school to what’s best for the children. Research has shown that parental involvement has a very significant impact on a child’s achievement and attainment at school and parents have knowledge of what the children want and need at school.
It is a great way of showing your children how important their education is to you.
Please contact them on friendsofHS@outlook.com if you are interested.
You can also follow them on Facebook or request to join the FoHS Facebook Group.
